The huge opportunities in the job aspect keep luring people in to come and make Gurgaon their home.

If you are looking to move to Gurgaon, you’ll have to factor in a lot of important things and aspects and you’ll have to do your own research for all basic needs and the cost and the standard of living associated with living in Gurgaon. Accommodation, food, utilities, transportation, basic food, and groceries are on top of the priority list. Gurgaon has got something for everyone, be it a studio apartment for a bachelor or a 3 BHK in Gurgaon for family or friends living together. Let’s discuss the important aspects and factors in detail:

1. Accommodation

The most significant expense, whenever you move to somewhere else, is the rental expense for your accommodation. The astute thing to do is to choose your accommodation near your workplace, usually places very close to workspaces are kind of expensive, so make sure it’s within your budget. You can choose a place according to your comfort, depending on your budget.

2. Transportation

Transportation is also one of the most important factors while concluding your budget. Public transportation in Gurgaon isn’t as good as in Delhi, so people prefer private transportation or using their own vehicles or using cabs to go anywhere. Gurgaon is well-connected to Delhi through the Delhi Metro Service so inter-city travel wouldn’t be much bothered, but you’ll have to think your options through for the intra-city travel. Although there are shuttle buses and shared autos options available in the major part of the city you’ll have to factor that in while deciding the location of your accommodation.

3. Food

Gurgaon has a plethora of options for eateries and restaurants but if you’re on a budget, then it will be the best to cook for yourself. Gurgaon has a high cost of living, thus making outside food more expensive than usual. If you plan to eat outside on a daily basis then the expenditure would be way more than you expect. However, if you live in a PG, you can opt-in for their meal options, but if you’re living in a flat, it’s best that you cook for yourself. If you’re living with family or a group of friends, then you can also weigh in hiring a cook for your daily meal needs. How much you’ll have to spend on it depends on how many meals you get daily.

Gurgaon has great upscale options for food, fine dining, world-class cafes, Gurgaon has it all but eating there on a regular basis will hurt your budget.

4. Groceries and Utilities

Groceries and Utilities play an important role in your budget and even more so if you live in an apartment and not that much if you’re living in a PG. If you’re not going to be cooking for yourself, then the grocery expenditures can be cut down bu again, it will come back to that much only if you’re eating outside. Gurgaon has super easy accessibility and availability of resources for getting groceries delivered right to your doorstep. Bigbasket, Grofers, Instamart, Dunzo, many options to choose from.

However, when it comes to utilities, most of the utilities are a one-time expenditure but you’ll need to buy basic day-to-day utilities on a routine basis, like toiletries and such. Make sure to measure that in too.

That covers most of the major expenses you can have. Don’t forget to factor in some miscellaneous expenses like going out for parties, drinks, and such, and also keep a fixed amount for healthcare expenses so you won’t have to worry about money when the need be.
