Modular Kitchen Layouts: Which One Fits Your Home?

· · 1 min read

The layout decides how comfortable your kitchen feels every day, long before you choose colours or finishes. Match the layout to your room shape and the number of people who cook.

Common layouts

  • Straight: best for narrow rooms and small flats
  • L-shaped: the most popular; efficient work triangle and good storage
  • U-shaped: lots of counter space for larger kitchens
  • Parallel: two facing runs, good for long rooms
  • Island: adds seating and prep space in open kitchens

Get the basics right

Keep the sink, hob and fridge within an easy triangle, leave at least 1,000 mm between runs and plan a chimney that matches your cooking style.
